Yay! I've returned home from Thanksgiving break and what was waiting for me but a USPS package.

SP11

Inside was this beautiful wrapping. The package is from my secret pal from SP11! I just want to take the time to thank her for sending the perfect gift. I know she's had some personal stuff going on but she still managed to send something great. I've been burned in swaps before so it's really nice when someone goes out of their way.

That aside, let's get back to the yarn!

SP11: Malabrigo!

Whoa! Beautiful! 7 - yes SEVEN - skeins of Malabrigo in Strawberry Fields. Of course my cell phone camera can't do the color justice. It is brighter (and more lovely) in person. And so so soft. This yarn went straight to my cheek.

SP11: Malabrigo!

Yum! I can't wait til I find the perfect pattern! It's a project that'll have to wait til Christmas break, so I have something to look forward too. Thank you so much, Knitting Faerie. I look forward to finding your identity so I can stalk you. Internetly, of course.

SWS Slippers: Pre-Felting

The pattern is located at Knit Front and Back and is called Keep Away Slippers. This is a great pattern to practice more advanced techniques, like turkish cast-on (hate you), magic loop, which I hadn't used in forever, short rows, and the sewn cast-off method from Knitting Without Tears. Can't wait til I finish the other one so I can get back to felting. I want to put some cute buttons or some type of decoration on the top of the toe when the fiber's all finished. I'm happy I've gotten this far with still a month and a half to go til Christmas.

Oh, did anyone notice the dog nose in the picture? I certainly didn't after I took it.

Slip-Up Socks: Finished!

Slip-Up Socks: Finished

Whew, I finally got a chance to finish my slip-up socks. I've decided they are going to my mom for her birthday at the beginning of December, so I don't know if I'll knit something or purchase something for her for Christmas. I liked this pattern because it was super easy to pick it up and know exactly what row of the pattern I was in. These are the kind of patterns a person needs when three weeks can pass between rows! I uploaded a couple more photo angles on Flickr. Sorry for the dark pictures, now the sun goes down at 5:30 and that's my usual knitting time.
