Yesterday I started on my second Monkey sock and worked a little on it today as well. I have been watching subtitled movies so it has been slow going (as in, I barely get anything done!)

Please disregard the illegal activities you might be able to see in this photo!

Anyway I have one more repeat of the lace before I get into the heel. I should be able to finish it during this week.

Til later!

I finally added some items to my Etsy shop! Please take a look around. I hope to have some knitted goods up there soon, while I have time this summer.

Yay knitting updates!

First I wanted to post a couple photos of the Monkey sock I finished a while ago (still haven't started the second one). Here's one of the toe and one from the side:

I wish I could get a better quality camera.. I try setting after setting and still the pictures come out blurry. It makes me sad that my knitting isn't shown in hi-def! This was a fun sock to make, easy pattern, beautiful lace, and only took me a weekend. I highly recommend. Plus I love how the Tofutsies made stripes on the bottom.

And here is the purse I made for a friend's birthday present. I used pieces from the Space Invaders chart from BMP (love love love!) and modeled the overall shape of the bag on Twiggy Tweed. It was a cooperative effort. I started the bag on Tuesday so I didn't have the time to make up a pattern and see if it worked or not.

Here is the finished purse:

And here is the lining:

Very happy with how it came out. I'm still working on my intarsia. This is the least lumpy it has ever been and my twisting seems to be working, as there aren't any gaps and the fabric doesn't feel like it's three inches thick.

I am happy to have it done at 4:00pm when her birthday get-together is at 8! Now I think I will nap..

So sorry about the lack of posting again. I have finally finished my correspondence course so I should have more time on my hands to do some of the more enjoyable things - like knitting, blogging about knitting, watching movies, seeing friends, sleeping.. etc. etc. Don't get me wrong, I made sure to fit some of that in this semester. But now my days (when I get home from work) will be filled with them!

More importantly, before I go to vet school, I am indulging in video games. I never had video game systems that were at all up-to-date as a kid because I was always told to save up my allowance for one. That doesn't work when you make $10 a week and spend it all on one movie with your friends. I still am unable to save money, by the way. That could be due to my high rent and electricity costs though.

I did finish one Monkey sock and haven't started the second one. The first one looks great though! I will take a photo soon. I finished it while I was in Austin with my sister, visiting the nephew:
Yes, it's become obvious (to me) that we have the same 'charm' genes. And I don't even like babies! He's a Monkey baby - his arms and forehead are covered in temporary baby hair - so the sock was appropriate!

Be back soon - xoxo!
