Goldfish Socks!

Okay, so my sweater week got completely interrupted by all the work I had to do. The sweater is really almost done, just have to finish the neck and then do the sleeves, but it's stashed in my knit case waiting for some free time.

This weekend I went to my parents' and worked on my first sock, entitled goldfish sock because of the painfully bright orange color and the scale-like rib pattern:

I know, the rib pattern is hard to see but my camera sucks when it comes to close-ups (i.e. only shows blurs). I used a pattern from the book "Sensational Knitted Socks," which my mom bought for me for Christmas. The yarn is some cotton thing from Hobby Lobby. I should be able to finish the second one tomorrow or at least pretty soon. Until then!

Sweater Wrist Ouch Week Day 4!

Day 3 came and went without a single stitch.. I had work in the morning, more work in the afternoon, went to Tina's to watch a movie and then straight to bed.

So, tonight I was able to get a little done.

Raglan decreasing at sleeves.

Start of the v-neck shaping.

Sweater Wrist Ouch Week Day 2!

Provisional cast-on around sleeve.

I have to work all week so my progress is going to slow down.. a lot. Oh well, snakes on a plane..

Yay, it's spring break! I'm declaring it "Finish a Sweater and Get Carpal Tunnel in a Week!" Week.

So here's the result of Day 1 of Finish a Sweater and Get Carpal Tunnel in a Week! Week, now shortened to Sweater Week because my wrist hurts.

The yarn is Bernat Denim Style from Hobby Lobby. Melissa gave me an awesome gift card for my birthday. I know I'm a yarn snob but this feels pretty nice for being 70% acrylic. Pattern is from cosmicpluto knits. Progress made today was motivated by some episodes of House season 1 and that damn I Love Toys show on VH1.

Just so I can have something of substance in a post, here are some pics of our new horse that we adopted from the Bureau of Land Management. His name is Kilo (don't ask) and he's a mustang from "middle of nowhere," Oklahoma.

Sorry guys, I haven't had any time to knit lately. I had 2 exams and a presentation last week and 4 this upcoming week so all I have been doing is school-school-school. I also have had no money to spend on new projects and am tired of working on my old ones..
